It’s our pleasure to report that the VidaMar Resort Hotel Madeira will be opened on the 1st July 2020.
We will be implementing all measures so that maximum safety is assured to our guests and staff while maintaining the quality of our friendly service that characterizes us.
During these challenging and unprecedented times, we are forced ** to make changes to our normal operational procedures and facilities. We hope these changes will only be temporary and we will be allowed to re-introduce the facilities and procedures in the future.
To this end, we have the following in place to minimise the risk to our guests and staff alike, with emphasis on:
Protective measures will be applied to safeguard guest’s health with the use of protective attire gloves, face masks for all our staff.
Antiseptic solution dispensers will be available on all counters, entrance to restaurants, bar and lift entrances.
High-touch surfaces and objects will be cleaned up and disinfected regularly. Special attention will be paid to bathrooms and areas of greater contact.
All areas will be ventilated daily.
Maximum capacities will be established to guarantee the minimum safety distance between people.
Staff will be trained on hygiene and prevention measures.
Temperature will be controlled at the beginning of shift.
** Staff will be supplied with personal protective equipment (PPE) to guarantee safety and trained for its correct use.
** Social distancing measures will be applied.
** Each room will have a cleaning schedule, so guests can leave the room during this service.
** To restrict staff contact, rooms will only be cleaned on alternative days.
** As recommended by health authorities air conditioning will not be available in public areas and restaurants.
** Guests will receive a complimentary face mask on arrival.
** Disinfectant materials will be available in addition to the existing amenities.
** Rooms will only be available 24 hours after the last check-out.
** Washing of clothes and textiles will be proceeded with special programs in order to guarantee maximum hygiene.
** A shoe sanitizing mat will be placed at the entrance of the hotel.
** Luggage will be disinfected before entering the hotel.
New online check-in and check-out system will be provided.
Contactless credit card payment system will have priority.
** Social distancing measures will be applied between clients and employees.
** Magnetic room keys will be desinfected and sterilized after each use.
Breakfast and dinner will be served at the Ocean Restaurant only.
Lunch will be served at the Sabor Mar Restaurant.
Evening bar service will be located at the Ocean Garden Bar only.
** Evening entertainment will be restricted to conform with social distancing.
** The capacity of bar and restaurants will be minimum distance of 2 meters between tables.
** A meal rotation schedule will be established to control the number of guests in the restaurant and avoid crowding at the entrance.
** Hand sanitiser dispensers will be available at the entrance and its use will be encouraged.
** Staff will be trained to maintain social distance in relation to guests of at least 1 meter.
** Tables and chairs will be desinfected after each use.
** Kitchenware and facilities will be cleaned with disinfectant products at the end of each service.
** Disposable paper napkins will be used.
** Table d´Hôte menu will be served.
** Buffet style will be restricted, however, when available, the following measures will be compulsory: a. No self-service b. Staff will serve guests at the counters.
** Mamma Mia, Casa das Espetadas and KOI Sushi restaurants will be temporarily closed until further notice.
** Lisboa Bar will be temporarily closed until further notice.
** The rule of 5-child limit will be applied. 24-hour reservation should be made at Front Desk or with Guest Experience Ambassadors.
** The Thalasso Sea Spa will be closed until further notice.
The VIDA Health Club and classes will be available. Additional information provided at Front Desk.
1 indoor pool and 4 outdoor pools will be open (1 for children).
** Minimum distance of 2 meters will be preserved between sunbeds.
High water quality will be guaranteed by intensified maintenance and cleaning of the pool.
** The frequency of cleaning and disinfection of the pool area and its furniture will be increased.
** Area will be restricted to one computer only.
** Regarding social distance and hygiene, the same measures applied to check-in will be adopted.
** Until government and health authorities change the current Covid-19 emergency procedures, the VidaMar Resort Hotel Madeira will operate with restrictions to its facilities and operational procedures. As we have no control over the implemented Covid-19 measures, no compensation or refunds to the guests or travel partners will be offered.
