Casa das Espetadas

Traditionally Delicious
Located 100 meters outside of the hotel complex, the Casa das Espetadas specializes in traditional wood burning cooking, with plenty of Madeira Folklore and Fado entertainment thrown into the mix! “Espetadas” (skewers with a fragrant laurel stick) are a bit of an institution in Madeira, so we sought to create a restaurant that makes the locals proud!
Traditional eaters tend to go for the classic beef “espetada”, but there are also options of chicken, tuna, pork, or other seasonal specialties. The island’s favorite bread “Bolo do Caco” is made in front of your eyes and cooked next to the open wood fire and there’s also room for the Madeira staple that is the Poncha beverage!

Overlooking the beautiful gardens and Ocean, our buffet restaurant features plentiful breakfast and rich dinners, including a terrace view that cannot be beat!
For breakfast enjoy our expansive and varied buffet, also featuring hot dishes that are made-to-order by the friendly staff. Dinner features several themed menus, which can feature Latin, American, Portuguese and Italian favorites, along with assorted other International specialities.
We also wish to add that wine and drinks are moderately priced, thus ensuring a good and complete dining experience every time.

Mamma Mia features a range of classic and regional Italian dishes, with fresh pasta and crackling pizzas at the forefront of it all! At a mere 50 steps from the ocean, the poolside and oceanfront Sabor a Mar invites everyone to relax in an informal and friendly atmosphere. Try a selection of lunch time snacks and fresh fish, like the popular Black Scabbard fish and Tuna, which are local catches.
We can’t help ourselves from recommending that you try the fresh limpets with garlic butter and bread. A special kids menu is also available, with a wide range of ice creams for the little ones to choose from.

Like the rest of the hotel, this Asian restaurant also offers a magnificent ocean view. However, it’s not the beauty of the sea, the contemporary decor, or the Japanese touches that stand out the most, but the fish itself. The quality, freshness, meticulously calculated thickness of each slice, and the infallible precision of our samurai sword.
Exploring the universe of sushi is like diving into an ocean of flavors, colors, and textures, letting yourself be carried by an ancient current in the continuous search for techniques and treasures once hidden in the depths of a distant culture. But for us, this is not impossible. Thanks to the ninja skills of Chef Inês, we can control the sea and bring you the finest fish and seafood, ensuring exquisite flavor in every dish.
